Even as a kid growing up in Ohio, Bob Bishop loved to watch USC Football. He remembers the heroics of his favorite player, running back Anthony “A.D” Davis, on Nov. 30, 1974: Davis led a dramatic come-from-behind win over Notre Dame by scoring four quick touchdowns.

USC’s moves then and now—as it takes its place in the Big Ten Conference—are why Bishop and his wife, Perri, have generously supported USC Athletics over the years. The Bishops were among USC’s first Cornerstone Donors to support the new Ronald H. Bloom Football Performance Center, scheduled to open on the University Park Campus in summer 2026. Cornerstone Donors are generous supporters who make gifts of $10 million and higher to the program.

“We believe in the power of sports to bring people together, and the need to be united now is stronger than ever,” Perri Bishop said. “This center will inspire, elevate, and connect people for generations to come.”

The university broke ground on the Bloom Football Performance Center on Nov. 7. The center will be the heart of USC Athletics, providing first-class care for student-athletes while supporting recruitment and retention. The center will encompass more than 160,000 square feet spanning three stories, two full-length practice fields and state-of-the-art spaces to equip student-athletes for success.

When the Bishops learned of President Carol Folt’s vision for Athletics and the center, they quickly stepped up to support the program. After spending their careers in the investment world, the Palm Beach, Florida, couple will tell you this: You get the greatest returns when you invest in people.

“I’ve always loved the USC football program,” said Bob Bishop, who founded the hedge fund Impala Asset Management. “This performance center will help the Trojans be a highly competitive team in the expanded Big Ten. I’m happy to be a part of this community effort.”

The center will provide the resources and environment for student-athletes to become stronger competitors while pursuing a world-class education. Players will have access to a recovery hub, nutritional support, sports sciences services, a weight room, a training room and more.

Recently, Bob Bishop had the opportunity to meet his childhood hero, Anthony Davis, and develop a friendship. Davis sketched one of his plays from that famous game in 1974 for Bishop, who had the sketch framed. It now hangs in his Florida office.

When the couple are in Los Angeles for a game at the Coliseum, you might catch them basking in the excitement and school spirit with other Trojans. Thanks to their generosity, countless Trojan football fans will be able to make unforgettable memories—just like Bob—for decades.
